CA6DL2E3F series diesel engine valve adjustment method.

  • CA6DL2-28E3F diesel engine, when the timing pin on the injector pump governor is located in the center of the hole, the flywheel corresponds to 28-30 degrees in front of the first cylinder compression top stop.
  • CA6DL2-31E3F, and CA6DL2-33E3F diesel engines, when the timing pin on the injection pump governor is located in the center of the hole, the flywheel corresponds to 20-22 degrees in front of the compression top stop of the first cylinder.
  • CA6DL2-35E3F diesel engine, when the timing catches pin on the injection pump governor is located in the center of the hole, the flywheel corresponds to 26-28 degrees before the compression top stop of the first cylinder.

 

Valve adjustment without engine brake is as follows:

  • Rotate the crankshaft to the upper stop of compression of the first cylinder and adjust the clearance between the intake and exhaust valves of the first and fifth cylinders (corresponding to the scale 1 and 6 marks on the flywheel);
  • Facing the flywheel, rotate the flywheel counterclockwise 240 degrees and adjust the clearance between the intake and exhaust valves of the third and sixth cylinders (corresponding to the scale 2, 5 marks on the flywheel);
  • Face the flywheel, rotate the flywheel 240 degrees counterclockwise, and adjust the valve lash for cylinders 2 and 4 (corresponding to scale 3 and 4 marks on the flywheel);

Pay attention to the valve lash: intake valve lash 0.3mm, exhaust valve lash 0.4mm.

 

Valve adjustment with the engine brake is as follows:

  • Rotate the crankshaft to the upper stop of the first cylinder compression, adjust the clearance of the intake and exhaust valves of the first and fifth cylinders, and then adjust the clearance of the exhaust valve brake (corresponding to the scale 1,6 mark on the flywheel);
  • Facing the flywheel, rotate the flywheel counterclockwise 240 degrees, adjust the clearance between the intake and exhaust valves of the third and sixth cylinders, and then adjust the exhaust valve brake clearance (corresponding to the scale of the flywheel 2, 5 marks);
  • Face the flywheel, rotate the flywheel 240 degrees counterclockwise, adjust the clearance between the intake and exhaust valves of cylinders 2 and 4, and then adjust the exhaust valve brake clearance (corresponding to the 3 and 4 marks on the flywheel scale);

Pay attention to the valve adjustment clearance: intake valve clearance 0.3mm, exhaust valve clearance 0.4mm.

 

Exhaust valve brake clearance 1.4-1.5mm Upper engine valve clearance.

  • Intake valve clearance: 0.30±0.08㎜;
  • Exhaust valve clearance: 0.50±0.08㎜.
