There are three causes of drain hole leaks：

• Water seal leakage.
• Water leakage between water seal and shell.
• Water leakage between water seal moving ring and center shaft.

 

Inspection steps

• Remove the water pump, the appearance of the faulty parts of the initial inspection, the water pump casing is complete, no bumping rupture, and the water pump casing drain holes have antifreeze outflow traces. Check the impeller corrosion phenomenon, yellow-brown, impeller surface with a large number of impeller steering consistent with the rust, local pits. Suspected antifreeze poor quality corrosion engine assembly failure.
• Engine waterway inspection found; that the cylinder intake port waterway has obvious signs of corrosion, residual antifreeze night color has yellowed, and some residual impurities.
• Decomposition of the water seal found: water seal and shell seal good, water seal dynamic ring and the center shaft over the hard fit are normal, but the water seal dynamic ring between the static ring leakage phenomenon.
• Check the water seal dynamic ring and static ring leakage causes: dynamic ring and static ring friction surface normally do not appear uneven or tilt phenomenon, but in the dynamic ring and static ring sealing surface there are signs of abnormal wear.

 

The real cause of water pump leaks

This is due to poor quality antifreeze caused by engine corrosion of impurities into the dynamic and static rings, resulting in abrasive wear, resulting in water seal leakage.
