Vehicle information
A 2019 Buick Regal equipped with the LFV 1.5T engine.
Fault phenomenon
The vehicle had just been delivered new and the customer drove it to a gas station to fill it with fuel it would not start and the starter would run.
Fault analysis
Started the vehicle, the starter runs but the vehicle will not start. Disconnected normal, drove to the gas station, GDS checked fault code P062B Control Module Fuel Injector Performance (Current)
Cleared fault codes and test-drove with no phenomenon. The customer said it appeared after adding fuel. Because it is a new car, it is not convenient to repair and take a small amount of fuel from the vehicle, and the normal car fuel comparison, there is a clear color difference, so replace the fuel and try again.
The vehicle would not start again after cleaning the fuel tank and refilling it at a gas station. I read the fault code, and it is still the same.
Following the SBD diagnostic process, query the circuit/system description (service manual).
Trouble codes apply to the intact microprocessor within the engine control module Troubleshooting, this diagnostic also checks to see if the engine control module has been programmed to.
Error Code Explanation (Service Manual): Insufficient battery charge, low component/system voltage, or poor connections may cause this error code to be set.
Fuel has been replaced, so consider possible causes
- Engine control module software.
- Poor engine wiring harness contact.
- Poor engine control module power supply lap.
- engine control module itself, etc.
The software version of the engine control module is up-to-date; in the event of a malfunction, shake the wiring harness to view the data, the voltage is normal; the fuel rail pressure is normal; the intake air volume is 4g/s, which is normal; the injector duty cycle is 0%, which is not normal.
Judgment fuel injector driver power supply voltage is insufficient to cause the report P062B fault code, so the fuel injection duty cycle is 0%, and the vehicle can not start. Engine control module power supply fuse one by one to pull out to verify, check the value of high-pressure fuel injection voltage, judgment F75UA to the engine control module power supply, engine control module internal boost to the high-pressure fuel injector power supply.
Through the fuse F75UA to the engine control module power supply, engine control module internal boost to the high-pressure fuel injector power supply, fault phenomenon occurs, the engine control ignition relay 2 voltage to maintain the same 12V or so, indicating that the power supply is normal. Therefore, it is judged that the engine control module itself is faulty.
Troubleshooting
Replace the engine control module, test drive for 5 days, and fault removal the problem is solved.
Faulty summary
Fuse F75UA supplies power to the engine control module The engine control module is internally boosted to supply power to the high-pressure fuel injectors. Module internal failure, fuel injector power supply voltage is 0V, resulting in fault code P062B day fuel injection duty cycle is 0%, the engine can not start. Actuator components controlled by the engine control module are powered directly or indirectly by B+, KR73, or KR75. Mastering the source of the power supply of each actuator component will help to quickly solve the problem.
